| Since 1935, the late Charles B. Anderson of San Diegeo CA had gathered about
8,000 full arrangements of popular music ranging from 1885 to the present
for most sizes of combo, band and orchestra. In early 1999, he turned them

Anderson also collected songs and lyrics of bygone days and recent times.
His Master Fake Book contains nearly 10,000 songs. Each has the melody
in concert key with chord symbols. Most have lyrics. They are available
in 17 separate "boxes" and four supplements of verse+chorus "volumes".In late 2001 at age 82, he turned these over to me to carry on his work through YesterTunes. For contents and details on how to own this treasure, click here. |

SALTY DOGS JAZZ BAND In
1947, a group of Purdue University students formed the Salty Dogs Jazz Band.
They continue today as a living testament that great hot jazz will live
forever.In 1957-58 as a Purdue student, I played and recorded with this band. I coordinated the band's 50th anniversary reunion and concerts. Take a look at one of the finest and most honored traditional jazz bands around. |

78-RPM RECORD COLLECTING During the Depression, all but two major record companies folded and their original masters were nearly all destroyed. We know that the "information" is in the grooves of those old 78s- we just didn't have good equipment to reproduce it as we do now. My own small collection has helped me to appreciate those "heavy hits" of the first third of the Twentieth Century. May I take you along as we learn the why, where and how of collecting, playing, trading and selling 78s? |
